Reliance Jio added 11.7 Million Users In July, Subscriber Base Reached 227 Million

Reliance Jio is continuing to rule the markets and the addition of new users every month too has now reached new heights. As per the data, Jio has managed to add 11.7 million new users only in the month of July of 2018 and this has taken the total subscriber base of Reliance Jio to 227 Million.

The monthly subscription data has been released by Trai, Reliance Jio Infocomm held a general meeting in July 2018 and it has announced that they have 215 million users till 30th of June of 2018. Also, the good news remains that the user base of Reliance Jio is increasing every month. Vodafone is placed very next in the list but Jio has managed to gain 20 times more subscribers in the month of July.

Jio Added More Subscribers Than Vodafone & Airtel

Reliance Jio has also become the fastest telecom operator that managed to cross the user base of 100 million users in just 172 days. Though the number of subscribers reduced after that, the number of people joining Jio every month did not reduce. During the month end of July 2018, the overall user base of Jio reached 227 million and the company is presently in the 3rd position when it comes to the subscriber base.
Idea Cellular Adds Only 5649 Subscribers in July 2018

While Vodafone stands second, Idea Cellular only managed to add a mere number of subscribers in the month of July 2018. As per the subscriber data provided by Trai, the number of subscribers that were added by Idea Cellular in July 2018 was only 5469. It is also a well known fact that Idea Cellular has now merged with Vodafone India and they are called together as Vodafone Idea Limited. As per the report obtained on the 31st of 2018, the merged entity had a total of 408 million users.

Also, Bharti Airtel, which happens to be the 2nd largest telecom operator in India, managed to add 313,263 new users in the month of July 2018. But then numbers were way too less for what Airtel is actually capable of.

BSNL Stands Strong

Though Reliance Jio is giving a tough competition to other telecom companies in India BSNL stands strong as the 4th largest telecom service provider in the country. BSNL has managed to add about 225,962 new users in the month of July. Though the number of users added by BSNL is smaller when compared to Vodafone, the company still managed to retain a positive number. Also the state run teleco MTNL happened to lose 9914 users at the same time and many think that this is due to the new plans that were launched by Reliance Jio.

Tata Teleservices Losing its Subscribers

On the other hand, Tata Teleservices too has started to lose a number of its subscribers after it announced about the company’s merger with Bharti Airtel.  On a good note, the overall number of telephone subscribers in the country did increase from 1,168.89 million to 1,179.32 million in just a matter of one month and showed an overall growth of 0.89%.
